Experience the Vision
We are thrilled that you have chosen to visit Calumet Baptist Church. We understand that the first visit to a new church may be a little overwhelming, so we've put together some information to help you feel right at home from the moment you walk into our church. And once you're there, we know that the loving, warm embrace of our church family will help make your first visit one of many more to come.

We offer nursery for infants and toddlers during our worship services. The nursery is located inside the rear entrance to the church that faces the parking lot (accessible by ramp and stairs). Once you enter the building, a church member will happily guide you to the nursery room.

Your treatment at Calumet Baptist Church is not based on what you wear. Whether you are more comfortable in blue jeans and a shirt or a suit and tie, we welcome you to join us. For the members of our church, Sunday is the highlight of our week. As such, you will find many of our members wearing their "Sunday best." Our hope is that after your visit, you'll see why Sundays are our favorite day of the week, too.

Worshiping the Lord and sharing His love for us through song is one of our favorite things here at Calumet.  We start our services in song as our choir offers glorious praises to our Lord Jesus Christ. The congregation also sings several songs during the service. Hymnals are located on the back of each pew for you to follow along with, and we also display the song lyrics on a large screen behind the altar for those who prefer to follow along that way.

After our choir opens the service in song, we have a time of prayer. Prayer requests are welcome, and there is a small white church located beside the door on the right-hand side of the altar to deposit prayer requests.  Those who feel led to do so are welcome to come to the altar to pray, but it is perfectly fine to pray where you are sitting, too.

A Time of Welcoming

At Calumet, our church family is loving and warm, and we look forward to the chance to fellowship with our fellow members and those who are visiting our wonderful church. After our opening prayer, we stand and greet one another. Visitors are not expected to walk around to introduce themselves. In fact, you'll probably find that so many people come to greet you that you won't make it far past your seat. We hope each visitor will feel as welcome as they truly are.

During both Sunday services we have a time to collect offerings and tithes from members of the church. This is a time for us to give back a portion of our income to the Lord for what He has given us. Tithes and offering are free will. Visitors are welcome  to participate in this portion of the service, but you are in no way expected or required to do so.

Children's Church

Before the pastor begins his sermon, he will announce when children are to go to Children's Church. Our children anxiously await this time of the service when they can gather to learn about the Lord in a way that they can understand. The Children's Church room is located to the right of the sanctuary, and the children will be held in the room until parents pick them up after the service.  To find out more about our Children's Church, please click here.

The invitation time at the end of our service is integral to our worship. Once the pastor has finished his sermon, we pray together. Then we will sing a hymn as the altar is opened for the people in the church. Those who have been moved by the Holy Spirit are invited to come to the altar to pray. The pastor is also available at this time to speak with those who need counsel or who have made a decision to follow the Lord. Visitors are welcome to go forth at this time if they individually feel drawn to do so by the leading of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is always present in our worship, and we hope that you will feel the Holy Spirit working within you as well.
We look forward to having you visit with us. Once you've felt the Spirit-filled love and warmth of Calumet, we hope that you'll make visiting our church a regular part of your week.
